Q: I'm running
MahJong Suite and I
get the error:
"Error deleting the file C:\Program
Files\MahJong Suite\Data\..."
or
"Error renaming the file C:\Program
Files\MahJong Suite\Data\..."
A: You have an old
MahJong Suite
installation and you upgraded your
Windows installation (XP or
previous version) to Windows Vista
or Windows 7.
You get the error because Windows
Vista and Windows 7 don't allow writing files in
the C:\Program Files\ folder
To solve the problem, simply do the
following:
- Run MahJong Suite.
- Click on "Tools" on the
toolbar, then
- choose "Options", then
the "Settings" tab.
- Click on "Store folder
settings".
- Select "MahJong Suite default
Folder"
- and click "OK" to
confirm.
If you want to save your previous
MahJong Suite configuration and
statistics, you can move all the
files from:
C:\Program Files\MahJong
Suite\Data\*.*
to
[MahJong Suite default Folder]
For Windows Vista and Windows 7 the folder is:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\MahJong
